Sanne-Bakker-1

Why our first employee is still working for WUA!

Sanne Bakker (23) was WUA!’s very first employee. She has been working for us for over 8 years, and we take pride in that. For Sanne, working for WUA! has been a great adventure so far, time flies and… Sanne is planning on staying with WUA! for a very long time!

Growing together

Sanne: “The best thing about my job is the atmosphere and work culture. Here, we’re working with a passion and are having loads of fun. When I’m working, I feel at home. Another thing I find very important, is that I can grow and take steps forward in my career. In fact, I’ve grown together with WUA!, since the company is growing and innovating continually, and I’m growing with them. I’m learning and developing, which is necessary and logical, since I really was a junior when I started 8 years ago!”

Family business

“I started working for WUA! in 2008, and at the time Klaas and Henk had 280 daughter pages of Startpagina.nl; a link page in The Netherlands, divided into numerous “daughter” pages. Each Saturday we kept developing those pages, together with my two sisters. Back then, WUA! really was a family business!” When WUA! started to grow quickly, Sanne’s work changed as well: “We started to conduct a lot of research for our clients, and I was facilitating the research days. Every day 40 respondents turned up at the research lab in Amsterdam to contribute to our research. Those were busy days!”

Changing course

In 2012, we at WUA! changed course. Respondents no longer turned up in person. Instead, research was conducted from home, in greater numbers. Sanne: “Don’t think that I no longer had any work to do at that point, it was quite the opposite! For me, this was a huge step forward in my career, since I moved from a facilitator role to the role of project manager. As a project manager, I now manage all research for our Dutch clients. And I also organise all the parties we have at WUA!, and there are quite a few!”

“My motto is: Work hard, party harder! We work very hard every day, but I also get a lot of space to work on my own ideas and personal development. My ambition is to organise cool things in a healthy way, with nice people!”

Many years ahead

Sanne lives close to the office, near the Westerpark in Amsterdam. “I always walk to work, and enjoy all the beautiful things I see on the way in the centre and along the canal. I would like to stay with WUA! for many more years, I love the people and the positive energy that we all radiate as a team. We are all working together in order to become the best at online performance benchmarking worldwide!”

Sanne has a true business mantra to share with us:
“Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life!”

P.S.: Because we are growing quickly and are working together to become the best in online performance benchmarking, we obviously have plenty of vacancies at WUA!.
