GeneralWhy visitors think you're expensive, even when you're not
Your price is sharp, but visitors still drop off. Dante van der Pijl shows six pricing mistakes from fourteen studies, and what your A/B test misses.
About this masterclass
Your price is sharp, sometimes even the lowest in your market. Yet some visitors still drop off feeling it's too expensive. Your A/B test only tells you which variant won.
That feeling often arises before the amount even appears on screen. In fourteen studies on digital customer journeys, 2,450 visitors rated three or four sites side by side. Dante van der Pijl shows what visitors noticed about brands like Ben, Knab, DELA, Feenstra, ASN, and Delta.
What you'll learn
- Recognize six pricing mistakes. You'll see mistakes like a mobile page that opens with your most expensive plan, and a promotional price without a follow-up price. Each mistake comes with an example of a brand that does it better.
- See where your A/B test is blind. What wins in an isolated test doesn't always win next to your competitor. You only measure that when the same visitors see both pages.
- Review your own pricing page. You'll walk through it using three questions every visitor unconsciously asks: is the price clear, am I getting value for my money, and do I trust that this covers all the costs. You'll also get a line to add under your price that you can test.
Who this is for
For anyone responsible for the digital customer journey and website conversion: marketers, e-commerce managers, CRO specialists, product owners, and digital managers. Do you work in a market where customers easily compare options, like energy, telecom, insurance, financial services, retail, or travel? Then you'll recognize a lot of what Dante shows.
